Taking a girl out can be quite stressful...knowing that there are only two person, each taking the other as companion...
Thats what I did today. Go out with a girl, to celebrate her birthday, just the two of us.
It was a little awkward at the beginning...can't blame ourselves, coz we haven't seen each other for quite a while now...and seeing as we lived separate lives, we don't exactly have the same thing in common to say, as we did have during schooling days.
Still, I must say things actually went quite smoothly today :) we watch two movies in a row, one being in 3D, which was a first for me...I must admit i did felt a bit uncomfortable when we watch that 3D film...not being used to it, the experience left me with a fluttering stomach and a slight throbbing on my head (in other words, I felt a bit nauseous and had a minor headache ;) )...and the room being cold did not help with my condition at all...but because she was with me, no matter how uncomfortable I felt, I have to push it down, put on a smile, coz this is her day, and I will not let her down because of me. Luckily, her presence did help in cheering me up a bit in the worst moments...haha XD
Coming out from a movie, to go in straight to the next one...man it was pure luck that I did not freeze myself to death...still, the movie was great, it was pure laughter from the beginning right till the end of it...and to see her laugh with me, I felt quite a bit of accomplishment, for it meant that I didn't let her down, for it meant, I think, that my first 'date' with a girl, hadn't been a failure at all. Thumbs up man :D
Walking out from the second show, we went and find out friend who works at one of the shops there...I had been planning this day for the past few days now, and one of my plans is to buy her a present (well of course, its her birthday after all). However, I do not plan to buy her just any present, but one that she likes, one that she can wear always, and in wearing it, she would remember me, and all our memories together. I hope. So it was quite convenient when the shop our friend was working at happens to be selling girl's stuff (well, purse, handbags, and some jewelry) and she seemed to caught her eye on some of the things there...so I offer to buy her anything she chooses there, and she chooses a pair of earrings...I hope she like it.
Eating was quite a problem coz she being one who just follows what other people want have no idea of choosing a place to eat...luckily, with her 珍珠奶茶 in her mind, it wasn't long before we found a place to eat...the drinks we ordered were terrible...one green drink which taste of mint, and one orange-red drink which she claimed to taste of candy? (though I can't identify anything candy-like bout her drink, it just taste sweetly horrible) But still, with just two drinks and a small snack we talked for so long I think the waiters there must have thought we were staying the night there haha XD
After eating, we hung around basically. Just enjoying each others company (or at least it was just me, her legs aches to much for her to feel anything else haha XD ).
Our friend from the earlier part joined us shortly later for her dinner break...where we launched into a energetic conversation in contradicting our fellow colleagues at work...I must say it feels good to let it out, though of course it couldn't do anything to help me when I went back to my work tomorrow...
After seeing off our friend from her break, we hung around again...chatted a while longer, as we waited for her father to come to fetch her back...as for me, well...er...my parents have been bugging me with texts as they are already here and I kept sending them text back to delay them...finally, I think I must really go or they will kill me...so it was regret that we say goodbye to each other.
So said, our outing went pretty well after all. My only twinge of regret is that I couldn't see her off...I really do feel a bit ungentlemanly then...but, what to do, it was beyond my control...unless I want to be banned from going out with my friends in the future. Anyway, I really hoped she had a great time today, coz I did...so thanks Kai Foong, though it was not my birthday but yours, it was my pleasure.
And I hope, there will be a next time. :)
